This day forms part two of the Avalanche Skills Training One course for participants who attended the one day Avalanche Skills Theory session done at UVIC the previous weekend. Participants completing both days gain the AST1 certificate. On this day we apply avalanche theory by looking at real avalanche terrain, doing group travel exercises in the terrain, digging snow profiles, using the Avaluator Trip Planner and Slope Assessment Toll, doing scenario based companion rescue practice and much more.

Included in the price:

Instructor; use of transceiver, shovel and probe; Avaluator trip planner; two ride lift ticket and certificate of completion.
All students must be able to travel up and down hill in snow. This could be on touring or telemark skis, snowshoes or a combination of snow shoes with snowboard or alpine skis.

Not included in the price:

Personal clothing and equipment, transport, meals or accommodation.
