VI HUT-BASED TOURING

There are obvious advantages of ski touring from roofed accommodation (think warm, dry space to hang out in, not having to carry heavy packs full of camping gear—you get the picture). We were pleased to pioneer guided hut-based touring some years back with our trips in the Prince of Wales Range, and are really happy to be able to offer a second option this winter from the new VIACC hut at 5040 Peak. In both cases, great ski terrain accessible from a comfortable hut make for a super fun-filled weekend of touring.

If you don't own your own touring gear, Ski Tak Hut offers 50% off rentals for all Island Alpine Guides customers while on one of our trips.

You should be an advanced skier or snowboarder in natural snow conditions to sign up for a posted trip. If your skiing ability is less than this, please get in touch so that we can create a compatible group for you.
